Exciting New Appliances from Sub-Zero and Wolf

Appliances Sub-Zero Wolf

Thank you to Fretz for this guest post introducing the new Wolf induction range – the perfect alternative to gas – and stylish Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances for small spaces.

No gas?  No problem!

Now there’s an exciting new alternative to gas. The Wolf induction range gives you a cooktop with incredible speed and control.  Down below, a dual convection oven bakes and roasts with reliably even heat. Available in 30″ and 36″ sizes – the 36″ size is exclusive to Wolf.

sm_ir304te_bstyle_061416_4

With the cooktop of the induction range, the electricity flows through a coil to generate a magnetic field under the glass ceramic surface. When an induction-compatible pan is placed on the cooktop, currents are induced in the pan and instant heat is generated. The cooktop doesn’t heat up, the cookware does. It’s a cooking technology of startling precision and power.  With faster temperature response than gas or electric, you get lightning fast sears and boils. But also very low lows, for delicate simmers and melts.

sm_ir365te_tcs_052016_9

Many ovens have hot and cool spots that can make cooking or baking a hit-or-miss proposition. The Wolf induction range is different, with an advanced dual convection oven. Two fans and four heating elements create more uniform heat throughout the oven and across all racks. Circulating air around the food produces faster, more consistent and more predictably delicious results for your baking, roasting, and broiling.  Save time by baking multiple racks of cookies or an entrée with sides at the same time.

Working with a small space?

Even if your kitchen is small, it need not limit your culinary aspirations. Choose compact Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances that inch for inch, give you the most versatile and efficient food preservation and cooking possible. Small doesn’t mean compromising on performance. The newly expanded 24″ collection proves that.

Start with fully integrated refrigeration.

sm_bstyle_061416_5_v2

Nothing is more unsightly than appliances that jut out from your cabinetry. Sub-Zero integrated refrigeration eliminates that awkward situation by blending seamlessly with surrounding cabinetry, and gives you advanced food preservation features and ample storage for both fresh and frozen foods.  Available in a variety of sizes, Sub-Zero integrated refrigeration provides a solution that is sure to meet your storage needs and stay within your size constraints.

Who says you don’t have space for a real oven?

The Wolf 24″ E series oven is slim enough to fit into almost any kitchen design – even in the smallest urban pied a terre – yet delivers the precise control you need to achieve delicious results. Best of all, it has eleven cooking modes that create the perfect environment for any dish you wish to prepare.

Make room for a convection steam oven.

md_slg_042516_1

No oven has ever been so versatile or so intelligent. Choose the cooking mode combining steam and convection that’s ideal for your dish, and the oven’s unique digital technology adjusts all the details of cooking. Bake bread, roast prime rib, even bring leftovers back to steamy, flavorful life all in a 24” convection steam oven.  Everything comes out even better than you’d imagined.

Or opt for a highly versatile microwave.

md_pik_011816_2

Chicken cordon bleu. Glazed salmon. Enchiladas. The Wolf 24″ drop-down door microwave is a true cooking instrument, capable of quickly preparing dishes you might have thought required your wall oven. It installs almost anywhere, and coordinates with the wall oven, coffee system, and convection steam oven.

Complete the package with a compact, yet powerful cooking surface.

The performance of the Wolf 24″ induction cooktop may take your breath away. It boils water faster than gas and provides exceptional high to low control – yet its surface (and your kitchen) stays relatively cool, due to the nature of induction, which heats only the cookware.

What is This White Stuff on My Dishes?

Guest Post by Kieffer’s Appliances

Lately, we’ve been getting calls from customers telling us that their dishwasher is broken. Now it certainly could be broken or need a service call. Dishwashers, like any machine, can break down. The first question that we always ask is, “What seems to be the problem?” The answer is usually, “My dishes aren’t being cleaned and there is a white film covering them”.

It’s Not Your Fault

Because of government regulations, phosphates were removed from laundry detergent years ago and now dishwasher detergent is following suit (circa July 2010). Phosphates were used for two reasons. One, they created more “suds” which the consumer assumed meant better cleaning. The truth is that the amount of bubbles a detergent creates has no bearing on its cleaning power. The second reason is that phosphates help to soften the water which aids in the drying/rinsing process thus preventing spots from appearing on your dishes.

The Solution

1. Remove any dishes from the dishwasher.

2. Take two cups of white vinegar and throw that right into the tub. Don’t worry about trying to fill the detergent compartment with the vinegar.

3. Run the dishwasher through a normal cycle.

Depending on what types of dishes were already in your dishwasher, feel free to leave them in. Vinegar is a fantastic, natural cleaning agent and will help to remove the film from your dishes and the interior of the dishwasher. If you don’t want to leave your dishes in with the vinegar, I’m sorry, but you’ll have to hand-wash the film off.

Another solution is to purchase a product called “Dishwasher Magic”. It’s a highly concentrated citric acid solution that will eat the white film off of the interior of the dishwasher. We would NOT advise leaving your dishes in when using this product. It’s available at most grocery stores for about four bucks.

Moving Forward

Now that you’ve cleaned the interior of the dishwasher, it’s time to change how you use your dishwasher. Use LESS detergent. Today’s dishwashers use so little water (sometimes only four gallons) that they don’t need as much soap as you’ve been using. Check to make sure your rinse aid reservoir is filled. If you haven’t been using a rinse aid like Jet Dry, then go out and buy some. It’s absolutely critical that you use a rinse aid. Many dishwashers today give you the ability to select how much rinse aid will be dispensed during the cycle. You can turn the settings all the way up in your dishwasher to dispense the maximum amount.

Knock, Knock

Guest Post by Conal Roney, Director of Marketing at Kieffer’s Appliances

When I was hired at Kieffer’s Appliances, I thought an oven was an oven and a dishwasher was a dishwasher and so on.  They were all the same to me, but now I know better.  If you’ve read any of our guest posts before, you know that appliances have so many different features that separate one brand, or model, from another.  I’m continuously amazed to see what bells and whistles manufacturers come up with to outdo themselves, and they always think of something.  Enter Miele’s Knock2Open dishwashers.

What are Miele Knock2Open Dishwashers?

Available on the Lumen dishwasher (model G6595SCViK2o) and the Diamond dishwasher (model G6985SCViK2o) in custom wood panel fronts only, you literally knock twice on the front and the door automatically opens.  It’s very cool.

Why Would You Want Knock2Open Technology?

If you’re going for a modern kitchen design and your cabinetry doesn’t have handles or minimalistic handles, Knock2Open dishwashers ensure that you keep continuity throughout your base cabinets:

knock 2 open dishwasher

When the door is closed, you would have no idea the dishwasher is there.

Other Features in Knock2Open Dishwashers

Besides this cool technology, Miele Knock2Open dishwashers are brimming with features that’s made them famous like their 3D Cutlery tray and super-duper,whisper quiet operation (44 decibels for the Lumen model and 42 decibels for the Diamond dishwasher). Both units are packed with cleaning cycles like China & Crystal, Pots & Pans, and Rinse & Hold.  In total, the Lumen dishwasher features 12 wash cycles and the Diamond offers a whopping 16 different cycles.  Miele even backs up their Diamond dishwasher with a free five year warranty as long as you register your purchase at Miele’s website.

If you want to see Knock2Open technology in person, stop by our showroom.  To see it out right now, you can check out a Knock2Open video* right from the comfort of your own home.

Thermador 5 Burner Range (Plus a free dishwasher!)

You will want to read this one until the end! If you are in the market for a new range, you can also get a free dishwasher if you go with Thermador. Read below to find out how –

Guest Post by Conal Roney, Director of Marketing at Kieffer’s Appliances

Thermador keeps innovating, don’t they?  New to the Thermador appliance lineup is their 30-inch wide Pro-Harmony range with five burners.  That’s right, appliance fans.  Instead of other manufacturers that produce their 30-inch ranges with 4 burners, it’s possible to get five pots on a 30-inch range from Thermador.

thermador from kieffers

Want a dual-fuel 30-inch range?  No problem.  Model PRD305PH features a self-cleaning, convection oven with natural gas surface cooking.  While the dual-fuel unit ships ready to connect to natural gas, Thermador includes a propane conversion kit with the unit.   Need all gas?  You’re covered.  Model PRG305PH runs on natural gas with a manual clean, gas convection oven.  And for you liquid propane junkies, model PRL305PH is factory set to be used with propane.

What Thermador hasn’t changed is their signature star burner.  The star shaped design, with the gas portals being staggered throughout the outline of the star, focuses more flame on the bottom of the pot or pan.  Side note, if you’re cooking and you notice that the flames are spilling out of the sides of pan, you’re wasting energy.  Turn the flame down so it’s focused under the pot.

Star-Burner-Flame-Low

The center burner’s output is powerful at 15,000 BTUs.  If you want more power, use the front right burner at 18,000 BTUs.  The left front rates at 10,000 and the back two burners’ output is 8,000 BTUs.  Power aside, Thermador is known for their XtraLow simmer burners.  The back left and front right burners have the XtraLow feature.  When the XtraLow setting is engaged, the flame on the burner ignites for about 10 seconds every 60 seconds.  It’s difficult to put into words just how gentle this is, but it’s absolutely possible to melt chocolate chips on a paper plate when using the XtraLow setting.  Maybe you won’t ever try it, but at least you won’t have to break out the double boiler when it’s time to melt chocolate, right?  And when you spill that chocolate on the range’s surface, it’s easily cleaned thanks to the porcelain coating Thermador puts on the cooktop.

Whether you’re baking, roasting, or broiling, the range’s convection oven is ready for the job.  With 4.4 cubic feet of interior space, most anything will fit inside including the big `ol 25-pound turkey.  Another side note: instead of cooking a 25-pounder, roast two 13-15 birds.  You’ll get a much moister bird.  Think about it, heat has to penetrate deep inside a large turkey and the outer portions tend to dry out.  Oh and brine, your turkey.  Trust me.  By the way, the PRD305PH (dual-fuel 30-inch range) has the industry’s fastest self-cleaning cycle at two hours.

Get a FREE Dishwasher with a Thermador Range

Who doesn’t want a free dishwasher!?  Now until December 15th, when you purchase a 30-inch Thermador range (or any Thermador range for that matter) you’ll receive a dishwasher for free.  A value of $1,299 and available with a stainless steel door (model DWHD440MFM and DWHD440MFP) or ready to accept a cabinet front (model DWHD440MPR), the Emerald series dishwasher from Thermador is absurdly quiet at 48 decibels.  It’s so quiet you might not know it’s running so the Emerald dishwasher shines a blue light onto the floor so you know it’s on.   It holds 15 place settings and has four different wash cycles and four wash options.  Washing dishes is the bane of my existence and I’m sure you feel the same way.  So let Thermador’s Emerald dishwasher do the job for you.

If the Thermador brand was good enough for Julia Child and the Brady Bunch’s kitchen, it will be fantastic in your kitchen.  So stop in to our Lansdale, PA showroom so we can show you all the goodness that is Thermador.
